Sparkman was elected to the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame Silver Anniversary team in 2004 & the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame in 2010. She was a four year letter winner at Indiana University from 1980-83. She led the Hoosiers in Field Goal Percentage during her freshman year when she connected on 119 of 212 field goals for a 56.1% rate.

Sparkman holds all of the Warriorette rebounding records. She grabbed a total of 859 rebounds in her career. She grabbed a season record 302 during her senior year when she also set the single game record with 29. Sparkman is 6th on the all time scoring list with 1,131 points. She is the only Warriorette with multiple 40 point games.
